Some days, it's philosophy, some days it's nothing but monkeys. Signal to noise ratio varies dramatically. I use this space for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to recording things I need to remember, communicating with friends, working my various mental and emotional processes, voiding the urge to write, keeping track of my games, showing off my liturgical meanderings, and recording my dreams. I also use the journal a lot to ask questions about what other people are doing. It's the psych training. I can't help it. Odds are good that some of it will be boring. If you're looking for meaningful content, this may or may not be the place. The show that comes on before mine is about puppets making prank phone calls. I mangle the english language in a manner that would make Humpty Dumpty blush, just for fun. Worse than that, I make puns. I talk dirty to boys. I talk dirty to girls. I will alternate between third-grade potty humor and grad student literary and psychological analysis from post to post, and if I can somehow combine both into the same post, it's even better. If you ask me something, I assume that you want an answer, whatever the answer might happen to be. I'm probably just flirting. I've got a poor sense of humor, but a fine sense of the absurd. I will ask you hard questions when you least expect it. I sometimes pretend to be a magician. I sometimes pretend to be a human being.
I'm a redhead by choice.
In my world, that constitutes fair warning.
FILTERS: I try to observe good posting habits, and not flood my friendslist with stuff that not everybody will want to read. Currently, I have these things filtered:
KC Local - events in and around Kansas City, usually that I am exhorting people to go to.
Discordianism - erm. Weird shit, mostly.
Fiction - occasional half-hearted attempts at storytelling.
Paganism/Woo-woo - Spiritual stuff, rituals, and related whatnot.
Balderdash! - I run a game of Balderdash, modified for LJ, and for the really smart people on my friendslist.
Subconscious theater - I write about the weird shit that happens in my dreams. Often, there are zombies.
